Who for?

Our Improvers Course is designed for children aged 5-10 years old who can already to ride a bike with pedals by themselves and would like to develop their skills and confidence further.

Course description

The course (4 x 1 hour sessions) will teach children a number of more advanced skills through a range of fun activities and games. 

The course will teach riders the following skills:

  • Controlling speed
  • Riding in a group
  • Using gears 
  • Setting off
  • Advanced cornering
  • Taking a hand off the bars
  • Racing skills
  • Bike, helmet and clothing checks

The course will also prepare children to learn how to cycle on the road in the future (not covered during this course).

All sessions are held outdoors in a traffic free area. 


Children should bring their own bike to use during the course. The bike should be in good working order. Children are required to wear a cycle helmet at all times during the course.

£40 per child (plus a small booking fee)
