We have used our years of experience of teaching children to ride bikes to design a Little Riders schools programme that is suitable for pupils aged 2.5 years and above.
This 3.5 hour CPD workshop will give staff the knowledge and understanding to deliver our schools programme and help their pupils learn how to ride a bike.
The workshop is suitable for early years practitioners, school teachers, teaching assistants, sports instructors and coaches.
The workshop covers the following topics;
- Benefits of cycling
- Understanding the skills needed to ride a bike
- What equipment do we need?
- Lesson plans/activities
- Managing risk
The workshop costs £200 per person and each delegate will also receive a copy of our schools programme, including a workshop manual, lesson plans and activity cards.
Also, they will be given access to a number of other electronic documents including; certificates, risk assessments and fun classroom activities.
Schools are eligible to use their PE and Sport Premium grant to fund a place(s) on the workshop as it contributes towards the following key indicators.
- Key Indicator 1 – The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity
- Key Indicator 4 – Broader experience of a range of sports and physical activities offered to all pupils
