The workshop is suitable for school teachers and teaching assistants.
We have used our years of experience of teaching children to ride bikes to design a Little Riders schools programme that is suitable for pupils aged 4 years and above.
This workshop will give staff the knowledge and understanding to deliver our schools programme and help their pupils develop the skills and confidence to ride a bike.
The workshop is delivered on the school site enabling our instructor to tailor the content specifically to the schools facilities.
The 3 hour workshop covers the following topics;
- Workshop introduction
- Benefits of cycling
- Understanding the skills needed to ride a bike
- What equipment do we need?
- Lesson plans/activities
- Managing risk
The workshop costs £400 and schools will also receive a copy of our schools programme, including a course manual, lesson plans and activity cards.
Also, they will be given access to a number of other electronic documents including; certificates, risk assessments and fun classroom activities.
Schools are eligible to use their PE and Sport Premium grant to fund the course as it contributes towards the following key indicators.
- Key Indicator 1 – The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity
- Key Indicator 4 – Broader experience of a range of sports and physical activities offered to all pupils
