Description

We have used our years of experience of teaching children to ride bikes to design a Teacher Training Workshop.

This 3.5 hour workshop will give staff the knowledge and understanding to deliver our Learn to Ride activities and help their pupils learn how to ride a bike.

Who for?

The workshop is suitable for early years practitioners, school teachers, teaching assistants, sports instructors and coaches.

Course content

The workshop covers the following topics;

  • Introduction
  • Benefits of cycling
  • Understanding the skills needed to ride a bike
  • What equipment do we need?
  • Lesson plans/activities
  • Managing risk

Cost

The workshop costs £200 per person and each delegate will also receive a copy of our learn to ride activity cards and lesson plans.

Also, they will be given access to a number of other electronic documents including; certificates, risk assessments and fun classroom activities.

Funding available

Schools are eligible to use their PE and Sport Premium grant to fund a place(s) on the workshop as it contributes towards the following key indicators.

  • Key Indicator 1 – The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity
  • Key Indicator 4 – Broader experience of a range of sports and physical activities offered to all pupils
